Competitor Coupon Update:
I requested a clarification of the Farm Fresh Coupon Policy to determine what the Corporate Office classifies as a Competitors coupon. The policy states that “Coupons generated by any competitor with competitor logo are considered competitor coupons.” I wanted to know specifically about coupons that include verbiage regarding another store without a store logo. The acceptance of these coupons has varied depending on the store.
I contacted Farm Fresh and was provided with the following clarification:
We will accept coupons that state “redeemable at x retailer,” however, we do not accept manufactures coupons that states “ ONLY redeemable at x retailer.”
I hope this helps clarify competitors coupons. My matchups will reflect this clarification of coupon policy.

Farm Fresh Coupon Policy:
Please see the updated Farm Fresh Coupon Policy. Farm Fresh released an official policy on their website. Most of the policy is pretty standard and there is not much of a difference from previous policies.
:: I want to point out that Farm Fresh does not accept competitor coupons and store logo’s on a coupon are considered competitor.
:: Coupon acceptance is at the discretion of the store manager.
Coupons – Definition: Coupons are a form of tender to reduce an order total based on merchandise purchased. Retailers are not required by law to accept manufacturers’ coupon. Coupons can be in print and/or in electronic form, and may be integrated into the register systems where they are deducted automatically when all purchase requirements are met.
General Coupon Acceptance Guidelines
- Coupons are accepted in accordance to the stated requirements on the coupon at the time of purchase. These requirements include, but are not limited to: product type, flavor(s), size(s), quantities and minimum/maximum dollar purchase limits.
- Coupons are intended for one time use and cannot be redeemed more than once.
- Coupons have no cash value.
- Farm Fresh only accepts original coupons and does not accept photocopied or reproduced coupons (including multiple prints of same series internet coupons).
- Farm Fresh does not accept expired coupons. Printed expiration dates are verified in addition to scanning the coupon for validity.
- Coupons stating “on next/future purchase or visit” cannot be used in the transaction in which they are generated. Next purchase is defined as a separate transaction.
- The coupon redemption value on ‘Free’ coupons may not exceed the value of the item.
- Coupons that exceed the retail value of an item will be adjusted to provide the maximum value, but will not exceed the price of the item to result in cash back.
- Farm Fresh does not accept competitor coupons. (Coupons generated by any competitor or coupons with competitor logo are considered competitor coupons.)
- All applicable sales taxes are paid by the customer at the full value of the item.
- Farm Fresh reserves the right to refuse any coupons at its discretion.
Internet Coupons:
Farm Fresh accepts internet generated manufacturer coupons that have met the following conditions:
- Coupons must scan at checkout.
- Coupons must have serial numbers and follow an industry-standard format.
Farm Fresh will NOT accept Internet coupons that:
- Are for free product offers which do not require a qualifying purchase (“Buy one get one free” is allowable)
- Are Internet coupons with a redemption value greater than FIVE ($5) dollars.
- Are Internet coupons that lack a UPC barcode.
- Are photocopied internet coupons.
Manufacturer Coupons
- Coupons issued by the manufacturer or vendor that are reimbursable to the merchant.
- The coupon verbiage contains terms of agreement, redemption instructions, a face value, an expiration date, and the words “manufacturer coupon.”
- Any manufacturer coupons which do not scan or do not have barcodes will be closely checked for validity, including the expiration date and purchase requirements.
- Farm Fresh reserves the right to reject Manufacturer coupons that do not scan or meet the necessary criteria.
Manufacturer Coupons Doubled
- Limit one coupon (manufacturer, digital, or internet) per item.
- Farm Fresh will double coupons up to $0.99 every day.
- Farm Fresh will double coupons up to $1.00 every Sunday as well as Wednesday.
- Up to 20 coupons doubled per customer, per day, per household.
- Farm Fresh does not limit the number of coupons we will accept, but will only double up to the first 20 coupons presented per customer, per day, per household.
- Orders may not be separated if it would allow the 20 coupon limit or any other coupon limits to be exceeded.
- Maximum of two like items doubled per customer, per day, per household.
- Coupons must be redeemed per manufacturer guidelines.
- Excludes coupons that state “Do Not Double.”
Digital Coupons
- Limit one digital coupon per item.
- Digital coupons cannot be combined with paper manufacturer’s coupons on the purchase of the same item.
- Digital coupons do not double.
- Digital coupons cannot be added back once the rewards account barcode has been scanned or rewards number is entered.
- Freebie items are limited to a one time use, per customer, per household.
- Farm Fresh reserves the right to refuse any digital coupon at its discretion.
Farm Fresh may change this policy at any time and policy changes may not be advertised. Coupon redemption’s are subject to the policy in effect at time of redemption. The current policy information can be discussed with individual store management but is not posted in each store.

Yes, I believe they’re tightening down. I’ve always have known that their policy was 20 coupons per person or customer and so in the past, my son would also pick up a few items on his own, as a customer…paying for it & all (usually not over $5). He’s homeschooled and this really has helped him think about savings and handling money. Well today, the cashier that I always go to seemed fearful of getting into trouble about running “two transactions” for the same family. I told her that was fine to get the mgr’s approval if she was scared of getting into trouble but the policy on the paper says “per customer” NOT per household. He came over and agreed…but watched my son carefully to see if he really paid for it (or at least that’s what I’m thinking he was doing b/c he stood nearby observing from a distance).
If they keep it up, they will lose a lot of customers…b/c in the end, a lot of items can be found priced lower at other places even without the coupon being doubled. In the past, I have chosen to purchase my staples & meats (maybe a few cents to a dollar more) there than somewhere else mainly b/c of their awesome policies & customer service. That may be changing 🙁
btw, I have a very close relative that is a store manager of one of the local Farm Fresh stores…I’ll let you know if I hear of any policy changes.
I think it is a great lesson for your son to shop weekly to use coupons and pay. I don’t know his age, but that is teaching math, interaction, being frugal, etc. I hope to do the same when my children are older
it really stinks they are cracking down… In fact I may think twice about going to FF for most items I can get cheaper at Walmart or the Commissary now… Only to save just a bit with a couple coupons won’t be worth a trip to 2 different stores!
I take care of a special needs child for a living, so Wednesday mornings when he is in school is really the only time I have (without my kids or him and his brother). So I always take advantage of the $1 double coupons, sometimes just for fun, but my boss always gives me money to pick her up things as well – especially dog/cat treats. Yesterday was the first time I separated transactions between hers and mine and the cashier threw a fit stating you cannot use coupons on separate transactions, I asked why if I didn’t hit 20 why would it matter? I told her before ringing the first one up that’s what I was doing, and I maybe had 22 coupons between the 2 transactions, but nothing to freak out about. I asked for a manager and she explained it doesn’t matter if we separate transactions as long as we don’t hit 20. But the cashier didn’t understand the policy, so just work with them a little, they will learn.
Also, about 1/2 of the items I purchased were priced wrong on the shelf – wrong in my favor so no complaints here!
It is getting frustrating, I may go back to only get free items like I have been doing. But I was happy to get kids Listerine free and Colgate Pro Clinical for 15 cents! Croutons were 20 cents, not sure whether the scanner or the shelf price wasn’t updated, but that would carry over all week if you need them mine rung up at $1.29, with the 50 or 55 cents coupons they are pretty cheap.
This is becoming a reoccuring theme, cashiers not understanding the policy and fearful of getting in trouble. I have noticed more new cashiers at my local store, so hopefully this is only temporarty while new cashiers are trained.

I am glad that there is a posting of the coupon policy. My mom went to FF & was told that she was not allow to use her BOGO coupon for LaChoy. Policy clearly states BOGO coupons are accepted. I think it is b/c employees who are not used or do not know how to use coupons dont understand their policies. Its that what store meetings are for? SMH!
Yes, not all employees understand the coupon policy so it can be difficult. Hopefully your mom can take advantage of the BOGO coupon now. If she has a problem, ask for a manager since this is the corporate policy.
Farm Fresh does seem to be cracking down more. You need to know your store to see how they enforce aspects of the policy. According to the FF rep. I spoke with, it is at the managers discretion to enforce aspects of the corporate coupon policy. That seems to be why some stores allow doubles on DND coupons, allow multiple transactions, etc.
That being said, the rep. also stated that managers should accept coupons that follow this corporate policy. Ie- a local store stating they’re not accepting printable coupons.
I love shopping at Farm Fresh. I’ve saved a lot of money and also purchase my extras there since they do offer me the opportunity to save. Hopefully, Farm Fresh will continue to be coupon friendly and provide the same level of service that I have come to expect and appreciate.
BTW: I typically only shop at Farm Fresh & Harris Teeter (occasionally Kroger but that is a matter of distance) because they offer me the most savings overall.

According to Corporate, they have no record of no longer offering rainchecks. Below is the official raincheck policy for your reference:
• We will offer a substitute item of equal or greater value at the advertised price.
• If we do not have a substitute item, we will give a Rain Check for the item “FREE” on your next shopping visit. (Limit ONE “FREE” Ad Item per customer (does not include alcohol, tobacco, cigarettes or prescriptions).)
• Free merchandise is limited to ONE Rain Check per customer per Ad Item.
• Multiple rain checks will not be issued on the same item during the advertising period.
• Farm Fresh reserves the right to make substitutions.
• Farm Fresh reserves the right to limit quantities.
• Photocopies will not be accepted.
• A rain check will expire 30 days from the issue date.
• Cashiers will provide a customer a “Farm Fresh Advertised Guarantee Coupon”.

I did most of my shopping at Harris Teeter this week because of the super doubles. But did hit Farm Fresh for the free pasta and a few other things. I had no problems this week, however last week I did run into a BOGO problem as well. I had the BOGO herbal essences or Aussie product, and had also purchased some clearance products which I handed her the coupons for first. She said the computer wouldn’t let her do the Aussie coupon even though it was for different items due to the clearance products I bought. The cashiers really depend on the computer and don’t question anything. If it beeps, they just don’t want to deal with it. I just asked her to take it off cause I didn’t have time for it!
I have always been allowed to use coupons on clearance items. I don’t see why a BOGO would be different. They do manually override those. I believe due to the way the register reads the clearance items.
I went to Farm Fresh this week, and got 6 boxes of cereal. (2 of each kind, all the same manufacturer) I used four $.75 off coupons and then two “Save $1 on three” .. it was fine, no problems. The guy glanced over each coupon, rang me up, and all was well.
Later that night, at a different store, I was picking up a few things for supper that I’d forgotten, I went ahead and got 2 more boxes of cereal, a kind that the other store was out of. I had a $.55 off coupon and a “Save $1 on two” coupon. The cashier was studying each coupon, reading all of the fine print and everything, and letting her line build up. She would occasionally glance at me and looked suspicious. Finally she goes, “Ah!” and holds up the $.55 and says, “You used a coupon that said “two” so that counts for both items so you can’t use this.” She just stares at me then, and I started to speak, when she held it in my face and interrupted, saying, “No, you can’t.” .. every time I tried to speak, she’d tap the coupon and say, “No, you can’t”. She did this like five times before I just took the coupon back and left, paying for the order without using that coupon. I was shaken up because she refused to let me speak, so I just let it go.
I am fairly new to couponing, don’t yet know all of the store policies offhand and since I’d just run up there really quick I didn’t have the policy with me – but I knew I was okay because the same situation had worked earlier in the day.
This is an okay scenario at Farm Fresh, isn’t it? I haven’t had a problem with it before…

Sorry Andrea, that’s too many coupons. The first cashier must have just pushed them through. You can only use 1 coupon per item. With the $1/3 coupon you must have 3 items to save $1 and can’t combine another manufacturer coupon with those three.
Using (2) $1/3 and (4) $0.75/1 you would have needed 10 boxes of cereal. The 2nd trip you would have needed 3 boxes of cereal. Two boxes for the $1/2 coupon and 1 box for the $0.55/1 coupon.
That is a general coupon policy and will be in effect at all stores. The manuf. coupons will also state one coupon per item (s).

Hi, I am new at all this coupon stuff but I am confused. It is a Tuesday and I have a coupon for bbq sauce buy 2 and get a $1 off so I had two of these and took them in. The sale at FF was buy 10 for $10 (just an advertisment against Food Lion showing your savings). I took 4 bottles to the cashier and he rang it up as $2.10 and when I approached the manager she said because the coupon was for $1.00 I said I would accept the .02 difference but she said that is not how it works. So my question is if I take it in tomorrow on WEd when they double to a $1.00 will they accept it? And what happens in situations when you have a $5.00 off you don’t get another .99 off? Thanks for any help.
I’m not sure if I’m reading this correctly, but the price for 4 bottle of the BBQ sauce would be $2.10 after coupons and tax Thursday-Tuesday. Were you expecting the $1 coupon to double?
4 bottles @ $1 each – (2) $1/2 = $2 plus tax.
Farm Fresh only doubles $1 coupons on Wedneday. They double coupons valued at $0.99 or less everyday.
IF the BBQ was $1 on Wednesday and you used (2) $1/2 coupons then the sauce would be free
4 bottles @ $1 each – (2) $1/2 doubles to $4 off = free plus tax

I have a question about their Catalina policy… Specifically the Register Rewards from Walgreens. I have had some cashiers take them & others time not. I only offered them, because I thought they accepted them. (like HT) Some managers said they accept the competitors coupons as long as it’s a Catalina & others wouldn’t even try. I never argued too much. It was always the cashier that was unsure & would double check before they scanned them.
Now that I am reading the policy I am seeing I was wrong according to what you have written, but then why would some managers say they accept them? It says it is up to the managers discretion, so does that mean I should just offer them every time & hope for the best?
I don’t want to be getting anyone in trouble, but I would also like to save as much money as possible.

They are not supposed to take WAGS RR’s. Some managers don’t know the coupon policy.
Harris Teeter will accept (according to their policy) a competitor’s coupon for amount off your total purchase. ie bloom mailed out $5 off $25 purchase coupons. Those would be accepted.
Different locations/managers will allow variations to the coupon policy, but that is corporate policy.

I just had a huge problem the other day using a catalina that said “manufacturer’s coupon” right on it…they cashier and manager said it was a Harris Teeter coupon when it most certainly wasn’t. It was printed at HT, but it was a manufacturer’s coupon not a store coupon. Ugh!
Where can a person get $.99 coupons?? I would like to be able to double them as per most store policies….just saying…

The tombstone pizza manufacturer coupons that say redeem at walmart are not supposed to be accepted at Farm Fresh as per Steve on their facebook page. Really was news to me I thought as long as it didn’t say “only” that it would be ok to try to use them.
I had issues with Farm Fresh this last go around with the double coupons. I had a coupon that stated “redeemable at Walmart”. It didn’t say ONLY at Walmart. The manager at the register got peevish, said we don’t accept these, and got all bent out of shape when I asked her to remove the item from the order. Then I had a coupon for buy 2 bottles of soda AND 2 boxes of crackers and get $2 off. The coupon only “doubled” to $3. When I asked why it didn’t double, I was told that the soda was on sale for $3 so I it wouldn’t allow it to take more off. I pointed out that my total transaction for that coupon was $9 and the manager huffed and just said this is the way it is, do you want it or not. Rude! I won’t be shopping at that Farm Fresh again! What recourse is there when it’s a manager that doesn’t understand the policy?
That’s why I’ve tried to avoid mentioning those coupons lately because it has varied so much by store. Hopefully, the clarification will start making the rounds out to all the store managers.

I understand what you are asking! FF will not “add” 99 cents to whatever the coupon value is…they will double the actual value of the coupon. For example, if you use a 50 cents coupon, they will double it, making it worth a dollar. On Wednesdays only, they will double the value of $1.00 OR LESS coupons, other days they will double the value of 99 cents OR LESS coupons. The employee didn’t explain it to you. They are not adding 99 cents to all coupons, the coupon had to be less than 99 cents to get doubled. I hope that helps.

My Farm Fresh has been cracking down hard here, too. My sister will coupon for animal rescue. She has tried to split her transaction for tax purposes, ringing up the animal food separately, but they stopped letting her do it. She is using 5 or 6 total coupons here on a normal shopping trip. She said as soon as they see a hint of a coupon she gets no cooperation. Personally, I am tired of the attitudes when couponing. Ugh! I am not STEALING from the store! I have everything in order, have double and triple checked my match-ups, and never have more than 20 coupons. I have been couponing since I was a child and my mom taught me. My first coupon was for a candy bar and I was 7 years old! I was hooked (lol).
Just wanted to leave a heads up to other local couponers. I went to the Farm Fresh in Yorktown today (on 17) and ended up having to walk out, leaving a cart full of groceries behind. They gave me quite a hard time about the multiple transactions rule, then refused to take multiple coupons (i.e. $.85 off 3, so I had 3 coupons for 3 items) even though I followed the policy and had no more than 2 “like” coupons and no more than 20 in a transaction. Ive recently been shopping at the Farm Fresh on Victory Blvd. with no problems. So, if youre reading this, please dont waste your time at the wrong place.
Someone may have already mentioned this but I had trouble last week when checking out. I usually make two transactions so I can get more of the same items but both transactions have a total of 20 coupons between the two. They told me that they wouldn’t allow me to double my coupons on the 2nd transaction for items I had already purchased in the 1st transaction. At the top of your match-up you say 2 like items per transaction but they said it was per day. Who is correct and where do I find the info to show them? Thanks so much!
The official policy has been updated to state “per shopping visit” I’ve changed that on my weekly matchups.
Okay, when it says ‘Maximum of 2 like items doubled per visit’, what exactly does this mean? Does this mean they will double two of the same coupons per visit? Or does it mean that if I have 2 $1/2 coupons, the second will not be doubled because there are four items? I’m trying to get back into couponing and am just a bit confused with that statement. If you have (2) $1/2 coupons that is fine – those are like coupons and will both double. You couldn’t buy 4 boxes of cheerios and use (4) $1/1 coupons – only 2 will double.
I was told by one of the employee at Farm Fresh, no longer can take both, the manufacture and digital coupon at same products. It can only be one or the other. Not sure why this happen? Do you?
After a few weeks of allowing us to stack the FF digital coupons and manufacturer paper coupons, they stopped. I’m not sure why the policy changed.
