Luxury Living Frugal Style is sharing her new weekly series, “Men Save Money Monday” with us!
We all know the temptation to buy lunch when we are at work because many people go out to lunch on their lunch break, but going out to lunch becomes very costly. For me it is about $10 every time I go to a place like Wendy’s or McDonald’s. A great way to save money is packing your lunch. For about $20 at the grocery store (even with out coupons) you can get everything you would need to pack your lunch for a whole week. Another great option is to bring leftovers from the night before’s dinner.
While this many not be the “cool” thing to do at work you will be the one saving money and eat a healthier meal!

See, this is one of those things where I get confused – how you people are spending $10 at McDonalds. LOL I often get lunch at Taco Johns, Culvers, or Pizza Hut and never spend more than $4! It still adds up, but I’m spending the same $20 you’re trying desperately to spend by packing a lunch?

I don’t havge a Taco Johns or Culvers. Keep hearing about Taco Johns, though. You could get something off the $0.99 menu from Taco Bell or Wendy’s around here. I can pack a lunch for maybe $2 with fresh fruit. Depending on the sales it’s usually less. I would count the leftovers are free.

Would love to hear ideas on what you pack for lunch. Our usuals:
Turkey sandwiches (sometimes mix it up by using pitas, cranberry horseradish, hot peppers, etc)
Pasta salad with chicken (usually made in slow cooker Sunday)
Green salad with chicken (southwestern style, Greek, curried chicken, etc)
Chicken salad sandwiches
Would love more ideas!

You’re lunches are more fancy than mine! Maybe because I pack for school lunches and my hubby prefers to eat like a child. Here is a post I wrote, but may be too basic for you. I need ideas from you 🙂
My hubby loves chicken salad with grapes.
