MacArthur Center and Magnolia Circle of the Kings Daughters are offering a private shopping event to benefit Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters on Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Tickets are $5 in advance or $10 at the door 
    -Advanced ticket holders will be entered to win a $1000 MacArthur Center Gift Card!
    -Parking is Free (provided by the city of Norfolk)

The raffle tickets are $2 each.  There are typically 10 raffle prizes valued around $100 each.  One of this years prizes is a 19″ television!

**You are eligible for discounts at select stores and restaurants with the purchase of an event ticket.  Discounts are valid on the night of the event only.

Head to your local Michael’s store on Saturday, September 25th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and they’ll make everything they need to throw a doll-sized American Girl party — for free! For ages eight and up.

The Oceana Air Show is this weekend, September 17-19!  I think we’re going on Saturday afternoon.  The kids have a blast every year!

I’m testing a clickable calendar on the bottom of my page for accessing events/kid fun.  I haven’t added all upcoming events yet.  I have a few events on the calendar to get a feel for which way is easiest for you to read. 

Do you think displaying events in a calendar format with links to the event website would be more beneficial than than the current Events/Kid Fun Page?  It appears that I can give people access based on your email address to add events to the calendar.  I’m not sure if anyone likes that idea.

If you’re a Y member in Hampton Roads, you might want to register to attend Saturday Under the Stars at the Great Bridge/Hickory YMCA location.  This is a FREE adults only evening, but with FREE childcare~!!!

We attended this last year with friends.  We were amongst some of the youngest adults present but it was still a lot of fun!  Jim Saba was super funny!  He  does acts at comedy clubs across the East Coast.  I’d really like to see his act at a local comedy club.  If he was that funny clean, I can’t image the laughs when it’s a typical act.  I think we ended up staying until about 9pm, we’re not big dancers and the kids needed to get to bed.
