Creating quality time in a marriage or with a significant other is imperative to the strength of a relationship. But how to you stay on budget with everything else going on in your lives? Living on Love and Cents & Madame Deals have put together a great article for this weeks Dating on a Dime series:
This week Madame Deals is bringing us a great idea!
This weekend my husband and I celebrate our 11th year together. I thought about all the time we have spent together and all of the things we have accomplished together. I was trying to think of a great date idea and I drew a blank. Then it hit me the beach. I decided on the beach because on our trip to Rhode Island we went to the ocean and we went in the water. I usually do not go into the ocean because it is cold. I am a Florida girl and I like my water warm. I did this trip because it seemed important to my husband. He proceeded to give a lecture on swimming at the beach since he was a lifeguard I listened. I also tried to keep a straight face since I have been swimming in the ocean since I was a baby. That is something I have learned in the eleven years I have been married when to listen and when to say something. While we were in the water attempting to maintain our body temperature and stay afloat he told me this is the best day he has his two favorite things. He was talking about me and being in the water at the beach. Sweet isn’t it?
I also like to do sweet things and since I am the planner. I hired a babysitter for Saturday and if the weather permits we are going to the beach and we are going for a swim. I will bring dinner and we can have a picnic under the stars. I often forget it is the time you spend with someone not what you are doing. When you love one another you do not need to do anything fancy. It is the thought that counts not the amount you spend.
What are some fun dates you have done on special occasions?
