I’m sick of the cold! I’m ready for warm weather & getting outdoors to grill. I decided to post a recipe to enjoy with the temperatures expected to be in the high 50’s & low 60’s this weekend. Whoo! This weeks recipe is based on the Farm Fresh ad for the week of 02/09.
Ground Chicken & Feta Cheese Burgers
Ingredients:
1 package of ground chicken (or turkey)
1/2 package of Feta cheese (prefer tomato & basil)
~5 green onions
Burger buns
Directions:
1. Chop approximately 5 green onions
2. Combine ground turkey, green onions & 1/2 a container of feta cheese
3. Form into patties
4. Grill patties and place on buns
5. Serve with lettuce, tomatoes, onions (or other preferred burger toppings)
Serve with McCain fries ($3) and FF canned corn ($0.50)
Prices:
Perdue ground chicken $2.50
Farm Fresh Burger Buns $0.99
Green Onions $0.79 ($0.40)
Athenos Crumbled Feta Cheese $2.99
$1/1 Athenos Feta, Hummus, Baked Pita Chips or Greek Yogurt printable
Final: $1.99 each ($0.99)
$4.88 plus cost of sides and burger toppings

mmm! Love the recipe! I make a Fiesta version, I use taco seasoning, grill as above except I cover with a bit of olive oil as the chicken tends to stick to the grill. I serve them on a bun topped with grilled onion and peppers, pepper jack cheese, sour cream and guacamole (instead of mayo and mustard). Also sweet potato fries go really well with these burgers 🙂
