I have been looking forward to the CVS Black Friday deals for weeks! I had a perfect plan all mapped out and ready to go. I called to confirm the opening time last night and was told 8am. I arrived at 7:45am and they were already open! Two of the products I wanted were already sold out which made a mess of my 3 transaction plan (as you can imagine).
The 2 products not available were the Theraflu 8ct and the Benefiber Sticks. I had $2 off coupons for both products which is why my OOP was much higher than anticipated. My goal had been less then $10 OOP including tax since I only had $2 ECB’s from previous shopping trips to roll. I’m still happy even though I spent over my goal.
I do want to commend the Kempsville CVS. There was still plenty of the other free items in store when I left. The staff did an excellent job of stocking for the Black Friday sale. Additionally, the employees were friendly and helpful which always great since it’s easy to get frustrated with a packed store.
Below is my original plan and how I changed things up.

Dana, I went to Kempsville CVS too when they opened this morning at 7am! Benefiber was already gone by the time I found the other items so I figured they were not stocked. I love Kempsville CVS too because they are always well stocked.

oh and I forgot…The excedrin was part of the old sale….I took the excedrin thinking it was a new sales cycle and did not get my ECB because it says the limit was reached for the week (from the 11/20 – 11/23 sales cycle).

Went to Kempsville at 9 – they still had everything except the bene and theraflu. The staff was so nice and helpful! It was fun and a pleasure to shop there. I luckily had 23 ecb’s going in, so I did 3 transactions, paid about $5 in tax and ended up with 35ecb. THANK YOU for all you do Dana!

I was there at 7. I was able to find both the benefiber and the theraflu. The benefiber was on a strip at the end of the isle and there were not many on it. The theraflu was up at the registers, but there were only 3 left! I did 3 transactions and got lots of great deals. I planned on only 2 transactions, but I got the wrong size of the Starbucks so I returned that and also got the theraflu which I had forgotten earlier. My husband was with me and really wanted some Werther’s carmels so I figured I could use some of my extra ECBs on that. Only had $2 going, spent $10.34 and am left with $22 in ECBs. Not too bad. I forgot to give them my second Listerine coupon which I’m bummed about. I also missed the Cepacol deal. May go back, but probably not! I love the Kempsville CVS!

I went to the Nimmo parkway/GB CVS right around midnight. I was still up working on food, I needed to pick up an prescription I had dropped off earlier that I couldn’t pick-up because Tricare’s billing system was done. The pharmacy is 24 hours so I figured it would be a good quick run to make. They were already out of two of the things that I wanted-at midnight. A group of women were there together shopping (which I don’t have a problem with) however, they were using multiple cvs cards and I have a problem with that. The cashier said he told them they weren’t supposed to do that, but he still let them get away with it. Either way, i had a $5 gift card because of a home mailer and a $10 gift card from my cover girl purchases a few weeks ago. Total money that left my hand was $.75 and I left with almost $24ecb. I am happy!

I also went to Kempsville and I called the night before and they told me 7 am. Luckily they had everything & I thought it was weird they had the Theraflu at counter. I happened to get the last of the capsules, but my trip went really well. I came in with no extra bucks and spent 7 dollars and some change and got a little over $80 in products!
