The new episode of Extreme Couponing will air tonight, so I had to share this post with you. My friend Lauren with Luxary Living Frugal Stylehas been following the couponers from TLC’s Extreme Couponing program closely. She has uncovered more about the consequences other bloggers are facing just because there sites have a similar “Coupon Diva” name.
As if her fraud on national Tv was not bad enough she is now digging herself an even deeper hole(which I will get into towards the end of the post). Do I feel bad for her? No! She has brought it upon herself, although in the process she is hurting people that have done nothing wrong and causing them problems that should never be something they have to deal with.
The act of coupon fraud by J’Aime Kirlew has opened a door that is affecting many people, YES J’Aime’s facebook page was disabled too because it had the word Coupon Diva in it, however had she been using coupons CORRECTLY the owner’s of CouponDivas.com probably would not have started going after blogs, websites and facebook pages that used those words.
Another Extreme Couponer who will be on the show has been affected as well.Coupon Diva Desireahad her facebook page remove because it has the words Coupon Diva in her name. You can visit her new Facebook page here, which she is in the processes of rebuilding her followers. She had 5000 on her old facebook page and now they are gone because the page was removed. I talked with Coupon Dive Desirea through e-mail and she also told me that people were confusing her with J’Aime when J’Aime’s show first aired. So now because of the fraudulent actions of J’Aime Kirlew another person is having to deal with things like loosing their facebook page.
And now they are going after people who have the name Coupon Diva in their names. You can see their post here
J’Aime also had the previous videos I shared with you removed from You Tube, she filed a Digital Millennium Copyright Act Notice of Claimed Infringement against the person who posted a video (that I did not get to see before it was removed). However it is a false claim and she is now digging herself an even bigger hole by filing a false claim.
All of this goes to show, that YES the actions of other people do affect people who are not even involved. J’Aime’s fraud has opened up a can of worms and issues for other people who did nothing wrong and I am sure there will be people who had issues when using coupons at the store because of seeing the fraud on TV.
Information about Coupon Divas going after people using those words was received from a blog post that they posted (linked above). This post was written and information compiled by Luxury Living Frugal Style.

I can’t even believe all this nonsense. I was a little late to pick up on the whole fraud thing, but wow, this is crazy!
How unfortunate for the honest people suffering because of this. Hopefully the good bloggers will be up and running again in no time! I’d hate for their income and incentives to be docked because of other’s bad behavior.
I’ve bitten my tongue for many of these posts all over the internet, but I’m very frustrated with all of this. Like many others I’m sure, my family now depends on all these savings. We’d never have hope of getting out of debt or living better than paycheck to paycheck without being able to save so much on basic needs. If bad people like this ruin it for the rest of us, my frustration is going to turn to anger.
And what really boggles my mind is that I’m getting so many deals by playing by the rules (store and manufacturer) that I don’t understand the need to lower yourself to dishonest, scandalous, and downright illegal behavior to get more. We do so well now that I donate regularly, share with family, friends, and neighbors….and we still have MORE THAN ENOUGH! Why why why would you need to come up with insane ideas like buying laundry soap with a teeth whitening coupon? I have a stockpile of laundry soap to last months that I bought fair and square at amazing prices, so I simply can’t wrap my mind around needing to steal to get more.
All that said, I can’t wait for the new episode tonight, lol! I know TLC makes their money showcasing the extreme of society (ever watch the pregnancy ones??? If I didn’t know that wasn’t typical, I’d have sworn off kids forever!) but hoping they will take the high road, especially after this fiasco, and show us some more good, honest examples of couponers!

That is so true K! We get great deals, can feed our families and give to others while following coupon policies and coupon guidelines. It’s unfortunate the tactics that have been displayed and how people that coupon honestly will suffer.
I watched the new episode too. I have to keep up with what’s going on in the blogging world. The last lady with the family that hunts was more reasonable. The 5000 insert lady was shocking! You won’t see me spending 35-40 hours a week to prepare for shopping! Blogging maybe 😉
You didn’t write too much, I enjoyed reading it!
