A few weeks ago a reader asked if I had any information on Kroger’s coupon policy here in Hampton Roads. I looked around online for awhile but couldn’t find anything, so I emailed corporate to ask. At first they sent me the old coupon policy (which still allowed for double coupons) but after I asked for clarification, this is what they sent:
Thank you for contacting Kroger regarding our Coupon Policy. Our coupon policy varies by division. The policy for stores in your area {side note: we are located in the Mid-Atlantic Region} is as follows. Please note that this policy is our most current and it is subject to change without notice. For further clarification of this policy, please speak directly to store management.
The store manager has the right to accept, decline or limit the quantity of coupons or items used or purchased in a single transaction, by a single customer, or in a single day.
North Carolina Coupons and Tax: North Carolina does not treat vendor coupons as cash, thus coupons that are scanned in an order will be charged for tax, even if customer is using a form of payment like EBT (thus leaving a tax amount that the customer must pay after swiping their EBT card).
Pharmacy Coupons:
• Competitor pharmacy coupons are accepted.
• LCM or Competitor Coupons may not be used in conjunction with our $4 Generic Program.
General Coupon Policy:
• Limit one (1) manufacturer coupon per item purchased.
• Limit one (1) store coupon per item purchased.
• One (1) manufacturer and one (1) store coupon can be used on the same item.
• Coupons cannot be used on “free” items.
• Expired coupons are not accepted.
• Amount refunded cannot exceed the cost of the item.
For any additional questions please contact a member of management. I hope this information is helpful to you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.
Sincerely,
The Kroger Co.

**Please note that Kroger no longer doubles coupons. All coupons will be accepted at face value only.
Hope that clears up any questions you had! Thanks for asking.

I went to Kroger in Va Beach (shore dr) and found out they do not double after all my items we rung up along with coupons. Very disappointing.
