Verizon has been adding new features to their fiber optic network to enhance your viewing experience. A few of the new features include:
- Verizon FiOS TV Widget
- Turning your smart phone into your TV remote with FiOS Mobile
- Starting a movie on your couch and finish it on your laptop with Flex View
Last month I discussed using the Verizon FiOs TV Widget, Music Choice to listen to music and watch music videos on my time straight from the TV. This past week, we tried out the new Flex View option. I was a bit skeptical at first but it is actually a cool feature!
How does Flex View work?
Buy or rent Flex View videos and watch them on FiOS TV, your computer, or your mobile phone. You must download the free Media Manager app to buy, rent, download and watch Flex View videos on a Windows PC. The download is easy and takes only a few minutes to set up. Additionally, the free Verizon FiOS On Demand app is required to buy, rent, download, and watch Flex View videos on a mobile device.
Please note that you will be required to log-in or register with Verizon. This actually caused me a bit of a headache since I had already registered with Verizon and had no idea what I set as my username and password. It took awhile to get it all sorted out, but was smooth sailing after that.
After installation and registration, it’s easy to watch the movie. We started watching Something Borrowed on TV then switched over to my laptop. The “Fill screen” option is great. I have a wide screen monitor, so it made watching the movie enjoyable. I think this could be great on road trips or to keep the kids occupied by letting them watch on my phone while shopping.
The movie rental fee is $4.99 for 48 hours. It is a bit higher than I like to pay; however, I found a wide selection of movies and most of them are new releases. The ability to watch new releases is a nice change since I usually watch movies after they have been out for months.
I enjoyed the new Flex View feature on Verizon FiOs. I like being able to take advantage of enhanced features to change things up a bit and break away from our routine.
Our Verizon FiOs thoughts:
My family has enjoyed our Verizon FiOS service for 4 years and have recommended it to friends and family. Although it is frustrating that every time we have moved or added a service, we have faced a price increase. Other than that, we are very happy with our current service.
If you would like to give it a try, make sure you check here as Verizon FiOS is only available in select parts of the country.
Have you tried Verizon Flex View?
I wrote this review while participating in a brand team campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Verizon FiOS. Verizon will send me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
